Terms of Use

1. The service

Hephaestus is a voice-first AI companion that helps you capture life context, understand what matters, prioritize, and take small actions. It is not a chatbot for entertainment, a clinical therapy service, or emergency support.

AI suggests; you decide. Hephaestus does not act on your behalf without your review (including supervised drafting features).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The service is not directed at children.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your credentials and activity on your account. Provide accurate registration information. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for unlawful purposes or to harm others.
• Attempt to bypass security, scrape other users’ data, or probe systems without authorization.
• Submit content that infringes others’ rights or contains malware.
• Treat capture content as instructions to the AI (prompt-injection); the system treats user content as data, not commands.

5. Not medical or mental-health advice

Hephaestus does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. Do not rely on the app for crisis intervention.

6. Subscription and billing

Paid features may include a monthly subscription (approximately USD $10/month) and optional token packs. Fees, taxes, and renewal terms are shown at purchase. Monthly tokens do not roll over unless stated otherwise at purchase.

Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g. Stripe, Razorpay for India). Their terms also apply to checkout.

7. Intellectual property

We own the service, software, and branding. You retain rights to your content. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (see in-app export/delete). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect users and the service.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence may still apply.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
